Situated in the picturesque country town of Sabie, Mpumalanga province of South Africa the heart of the Panorama Scenic Route, Lone Creek River Lodge opened its doors in 1997 offering their guests a peaceful and warm welcome in an ambience complimented by tranquil surroundings.
Surrounded by unspoiled forests, mountain streams and waterfalls, Lone Creek River Lodge offers comfortable and luxurious accommodation in the heart of the Drakensberg Escarpment, easily accessible from all major routes.
Local and international guests have a choice between three types of luxury accommodation, fully-serviced river rooms and suites or self catering timber cottages, all capturing their romantic surroundings. A gothic chapel, conference facility and a five star restaurant are additional facilities for the convenience of our guests.
In the surrounding areas various exciting activities can be enjoyed such as hiking, fly-fishing, mountain biking, horse riding, white-water rafting, rock climbing, abseiling, day tours to the waterfalls and many more.

River Suites: 8
Eight suites, with rosewood cupboards, Italian tiles and hand painted basins, reflect the ultimate in luxury accommodation. The perfect choice for honeymooners or busy executives. These suites are situated on the banks of the Sabie River. Each of these suites also have: a separate lounge with open log fireplace / DSTV / en-suite bathroom with bath & shower/ French doors with patio overlooking the Sabie River, forests and mountains / a telephone / linen and amenities / secure parking. Included are two family suites that can each accommodate a family of four.

Five tastefully decorated bedrooms, each with its own balcony, overlooking the fresh water pool, the Sabie River and the beautifully landscaped gardens These rooms are part of the main Manor House each having a private balcony, en-suite bathrooms (bath & separate shower) / linen and all amenities / over-head fans / heaters / telephones / secure parking
Timber Lodges: 8
The double storey timber lodges build in an Aspen-style consists of four units each: two downstairs (B-units, suitable for two guests) and two upstairs units (A-units, suitable for a family of four or five).
The A-units (upstairs) have: fully equipped kitchens with all cutlery and crockery / wooden decks with build-in braai (barbeque)/ en-suite bathrooms (bath & shower) / loft room with twin beds / all linen and amenities / open log fireplace / fully serviced units / secure undercover parking.
The B-units (downstairs) have: small kitchenette with microwave oven and bar fridge (no stove) / cutlery and crockery / portable braaier (no deck) / en-suite bathroom with either a shower or a bath / all linen and amenities / open log fireplace / secure undercover parking.
Both of these unit types overlook the sparkling rock pool.
From Pretoria or Johannesburg take the N4 towards Witbank and continue past Middelburg to the Belfast turnoff.
If the weather is good turn off into Belfast and continue with the R540 through Dullstroom and Lydenburg, and then with the R37, via the Long Tom Pass, to Sabie.
If it is rainy day with low-hanging cloud-cover or mist, continue with the N4 past Machadodorp and Waterval Boven. Turn left on the R539 (signposted Sabie and Sudwala). Turn off right just before Sudwala Caves and continue with the
R539 to the R37 T-junction. Turn left onto the R37 and then right at the next T-junction, 10 km from Sabie.

Drive through the town towards Graskop.
Turn left at 4 way stop – Old Lydenburg Road Carry on for approximately 2.3 km, cross railway.
